Staying here is like stepping back in time with the antique decor and historical photographs that fill the space. The clawfoot tub in some rooms adds a unique touch, and with live music downstairs at the pub, it's a lively spot to unwind after a day.
I noticed the bathroom amenities could use an update with some broken fixtures and a shower curtain that had seen better days. The air conditioning struggled to keep the room cool during peak heat, and the TV was disappointingly small-more suited for a cozy corner than a guest room.

A fine historical place, if only the walls could speak. Updated without destrying the character of the buiding. Clean and comfortable.

Clean, comfortable room. Enjoyed the historic nature of the hotel. Our room was "modern," which suited us for this stay. A "hospitality suite" provided an area for coffee, hot water and a communal refrigerator.
The shower stall needs a way to have the curtain tied in place so it doesn't impinge on your personal space. Noise travels very easily from hallway into rooms; you can hear everything, especially door slams (there's no easy way to close door quietly from the outside).

Delightful and extremely spacious rooms with private bathrooms. Great location next to the Prospera center, the revitalized downtown and decent restaurants, coffee shops, bars, a bookstore, a spa, and a natural soap store all a short walk away. Also, in the wonderful Cafe.

We had a boss time! The antique feel of the hotel is dead sound, made us feel proper welcome. Breakfast was spot on. Only downside was the mattress needed a good swap—could feel the springs, la. Still, we loved the charm around every corner!

The fact that it was 104 years old and had a lot character and original features.

Good price & location. City centre location was great.
We felt that the mattress sagged a bit - not firm at all. That made for a bit of an uncomfortable sleep.

charming stay with room for improvement
I appreciated the unique decor of my Classic Antique Room, it reminded me of a step back in time. The bed was comfortable, ensuring a restful night. I enjoyed the view of the mountains from my window.
The air conditioning unit struggled to maintain a comfortable temperature.

The history - the simplicity of really having what is needed to sleep - a comfy bed - washroom facilities Breakfast was great - great hostess - you felt like it was family If it was a business trip I would not stay there as I would need more space but for a room to lay your head it was perfect

Good central location in Chilliwack, and the history of the building is quite interesting.
The rooms are extremely small, not very suitable for a family with small children. The hotel is very old, which also makes for very thin walls..it was also quite pricey for the size of the room..

The Royal is a charming hotel located in downtown Chilliwack. The check-in process was seamless, and the front desk staff provided useful recommendations for local dining options. The complimentary breakfast included at the cafe next door offered excellent quality, with friendly staff eager to chat and a selection of freshly baked goods. The room was clean and uniquely decorated.

The rooms were simple and clean.
The blinds were white and let in quite a bit of light. It's on a busy street so street lights were lighting up the room all night. There was also quite a bit of noise from the street at night.
